How this works

Christmas is easier on the budget when it's spread across your pays rather than landing on one credit card statement. Enter what you want to spend, your next payday and how often you're paid, and the calculator counts the paydays left before Christmas and divides what you still need to save across them.

Paydays are counted from your next payday, stepping 7 days (weekly), 14 days (fortnightly) or one calendar month (monthly) at a time, and only paydays before your Christmas date count. If you want the money a week early for shopping, just set the Christmas date earlier. We round the per-pay amount up to the nearest cent so you don't fall short.

The gift list helps you check that your target is realistic. Add each person or item with a budget, and tick "use my gift list total" to save towards that figure instead. Don't forget the extras like wrapping, postage, food and travel. Everything stays on your device, so you can print the list and stick it on the fridge.

FAQ

How much do I need to save each fortnight for Christmas?

Divide what you still need by the number of fortnightly paydays left before Christmas. The calculator counts the paydays for you.

Do paydays on Christmas Day count?

No. Only paydays before the Christmas date you enter are counted.

Is my information saved?

No. All calculations run in your browser and nothing is sent anywhere.
